HomeBase commences “Thinking Forward” Thought Leader initiative
On October 26-27, the non-profit, public policy law firm HomeBase brought together a small group of thought leaders to participate in the event “Thinking Forward: Ending Homelessness- the View from 2036”. This two-day brainstorming event will lay the groundwork for eventual short and long-term recommendations on housing and related programs that can effectively end homelessness in the United States in twenty years. Participants included directors of housing and homelessness agencies and non-profit organizations in cities such as Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Denver and Washington D.C. Design Resources for Homelessness also participated in this important roundtable event, contributing to dialogue on topics including the definition and diversity of dignity-supportive housing types and the linkages of homelessness to poverty, income inequities, healthcare, racism and crime.
